{"id":72,"date":"2012-01-16T19:43:34","date_gmt":"2012-01-16T19:43:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.adrealawrence.org\/edpolicy\/spring2012\/?page_id=72"},"modified":"2012-01-16T19:49:23","modified_gmt":"2012-01-16T19:49:23","slug":"policy-history","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/www.adrealawrence.org\/edpolicy\/spring2012\/work\/policy-history\/","title":{"rendered":"Policy History"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The purpose of the policy history is to trace temporally how your specific policy has developed over time.\u00a0 You will work with your group members and through several types of sources to trace this development.\u00a0 This analysis will help you build your geospatial analysis, your 3-P analysis, and your policy recommendations.<\/p>\n<h2>Guidelines<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>In researching your policy, you should consult several different types of sources.\u00a0 At a minimum, you should consult and use the following types of sources:\n<ul>\n<li>scholarly research<\/li>\n<li>news media from today<\/li>\n<li>news media from 20 years ago<\/li>\n<li>news media from 50 years ago<\/li>\n<li>news media from 100 years ago<\/li>\n<li>think tank briefs\/papers (there should be at least three, each from a different organization to account for varying ideological lenses)<\/li>\n<li>legal documents (These include federal, state, and municipal laws; regulations; and court decisions.\u00a0 Your group may have several legal documents, depending on the policy you are researching.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>You will submit your policy history as a <strong>draft<\/strong> (do not publish it) on this website by class time on <strong>14 February 2012.<\/strong>\u00a0 Please use parenthetical notes to cite your sources in either Chicago or MLA format.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2\/>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The purpose of the policy history is to trace temporally how your specific policy has developed over time.\u00a0 You will work with your group members and through several types of sources to trace this development.\u00a0 This analysis will help you build your geospatial analysis, your 3-P analysis, and your policy recommendations.
